Appearance
What Jaromir may lack in height he makes up for in muscle and brute strength, appearing thick and stocky even without the padding of his winter coat. His pelt bears dappled shades of tan, streaked and mottled with black, and an iron grey mask spills down his face before giving way to a rich sienna bridging his muzzle; both his underbelly and his throat are washed in a crisp, clean white. Jaromir is fairly small for a male, walking with a delicate grace that is almost absurd given his broad build, and even his smooth facial features are deceptively soft and kindly. Raised as part of a cultured group, he is articulate and well-spoken, with an even voice that is pleasantly melodic. As a result of his warm tones, bright honey eyes and practiced smile designed to disarm, Jaromir oozes superficial charm. This effectively camouflages his habitual cool indifference.
Personality
Jaromir has always harboured a fascination with the complexities of wolven nature, what people do and why and how those choices change who they are and what they will become. The objective allure of the psychological has generated in him a detached and pragmatic demeanour, most especially after he became emotionally withdrawn following his unpleasant experiences at his former home. While he is not malicious or sadistic, he is only selectively compassionate and has no moral qualms concerning deceit and manipulation providing it benefits him in some way. This makes Jaromir particularly difficult to get close to as he does not trust easily; he is wary and shielded. The time Jaromir spent alone taught him to rely on himself for most things, but like all wolves he still yearns for good company and – on occasion – has found that company in the most unlikely of places. Crossing paths with birds, foxes, and also a particularly helpful bear named Morzsa, he has learned to appreciate companionship in whatever form it presents itself. The path to friendship with Jaromir may be a challenging and tedious one, but its rewards far outweigh its price; he is loyal and dependable to those he cares for and trusts.
History
Jaromir was born to a relatively small pack which had claimed a broad range of forest in the east as their homeland; his youth was a time of plenty, and the territory afforded his pack the luscious bounty and peaceful seclusion that is coveted by all growing families. However, it was the complacency engendered by this natural prosperity which would prove to be their undoing. Unaccustomed as they were to the strain of dearth and the bitterness of rivalry, they were unprepared for the tragedy which befell them in the winter of 2012. A rather more formidable band of wolves sought shelter in the pack’s homeland as the weather grew perilous. It soon became clear that these newcomers were unwilling to ally with the souls already settled there, and standing as a tranquil twelve to a desperately ruthless twenty-one, Jaromir’s pack could do little to defend itself against the onslaught. A handful survived, though most perished, in what would later become known as the Khailabri massacre. What remained of Jaromir’s family yielded to the invaders and escaped, but he was left wounded among the dead and – as he was the poorest of hunters –was forced to cannibalise enough of his former packmates to stay alive.
The reunion between Jaromir and his brother Boldizsar several weeks later was a painfully frosty one. When the rival packs had begun battling in earnest, Jaromir had been charged with the safety of Boldizsar’s young daughter, Adelina. Rather than usher her to safety, Jaromir was enthralled in the midst of the fight and failed as her protector, instead standing by to watch her savaged by three of the raiding party. Those who had weathered the massacre blamed Jaromir for Adelina’s death and he became something of a pariah among his kin, except perhaps in the eyes of his baby sister Mischa upon whom he doted unreservedly. As the weeks passed on within the grove in which they had settled, Jaromir took to a sleeping spot set apart from his family and woke one morning - after a particularly violent storm - to find that he had been abandoned. Feeling scorned and alone, the young male embarked on a ceaseless journey into the world, never staying in one place for more than a few days and scavenging what he could from those he came across. But satisfying meals were few and far between and it was not long before his lack of hunting skills caught up with him, which is what eventually brought him stumbling into Tkat Vmeste territory. The scent of wolves carried with it the promise of a chance at redemption.
